Governor's colour code for swearing-in ceremony

Kolkata, May 16 :Terracotta (brick red) and cream combination would be theme colours in the backdrop stage for the swearing-in of the Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee led seventh Left Front government on May 18.

Governor Gopalakrishna Gandhi wants terracotta (brick red) and cream to be the colours of the ceremony, Public Works Department sources said.

The decoration will be simple consisting of a dose of Bengali culture like ''Alpona'' (floor decoration), flowers and a colour motif.

The sources said a leading city decorator has been assigned with the work of setting up the pandal and for looking into the general arrangements.

The guests will be served with Bengali delicacies 'samosa', 'misti' (sweets) and cold drinks apart from tea and biscuits.

The PWD sources said the refreshments will be given in a single enclosure in the Raj Bhaban campus for security reasons.
