Four HM militants killed in encounter in Doda

Jammu, May 16 (UNI) Security forces gunned down four hardcore militants of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen(HM), including a deputy battalion commander and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition including four Kg RDX, in an encounter at Banihal in Doda district this morning.

The army sources said a joint team of the army and police, on a tip-off, launched the operation in Khari tehsil of Banihal, in which four ultras were killed. The encounter was on when reports last came in.

Three slain ultras have been identified as Aeshad Gujjar, a battalion commander trained in PoK, Mohammd Shafi and Mohammad Yusuf while the identity of the fourth militant was still to be ascertained.

Two AK 56 rifles, two pistols, 12 hand grenades, four Kg RDX, one wireless set, six detonators and over 100 AK rounds were seized from their possession, sources added.
