Doctors to observe ''token strike''in Kanpur on May 20: IMA
Kanpur, May 16 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh unit of the Indian Medical Association will observe a token strike'' here on May 20 in protest against the proposed quota for OBCs in premier Institutions of Higher Education.
Talking to mediapersons here today IMA Uttar Pradesh Chapter President Dr T N Singh said doctors would only attend the emergency services on May 20 and wear black batches to express their protest against the Centre's decision.
He said all the district units have been directed to observe the strike and organise demonstrations to register their protest. A memorandum addressed to President A P J Abdul Kalam would also be submitted to district magistrates for his perusal.
