CPI finalises its ministers in the LDF Cabinet

Thiruvananthapuram, May 16 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI), the second biggest constituent of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala, is understood to have finalised a list of four nominees for berths in the LDF ministry to be sworn-in on May 18.

Mr K P Rajendran, Mr C Divakaran, Mr Mullakkara Ratnakaran and Mr Binoy Viswom were nominated by the CPI State Council, which met here today, to represent the party in the Cabinet.

They were elected from Kodungallur, Karunagappally, Chadayamangalam and Nadapuram respectively in the April-May Assembly elections.

The State Council is also reported to have named Mr Jose Baby, who won the election from Mannarkkad, for the post of Deputy Speaker.

A formal announcement on the nomination of the ministers and the Deputy Speaker is expectd after the LDF Liaison Committee meeting tomorrow.

The CPI has 17 members in the new Assembly.
