Councillor held in robbery case

Sirsa, May 16 (UNI) A municipal councillor has been arrested in connection with a robbery case in which Rs nine lakh were looted from a commission agent in Sirsa district town last week.

Police today said it arrested councillor Abhishek alias Aboo, a grandson of former local MLA Hazar Chand Kamboj, and recovered a 32 bore pistol from his possession.

Commission agent Kapil was looted outside the UCO Bank near the local grain market by two youths as he was coming out of the bank carrying Rs nine lakh in cash.

Police said the involvement of the councillor in the case was revealed following interrogation of the other accused Johnny who was arrested earlier. Police had recovered Rs 6.75 lakh from his possesion.
