Cong seek's Advani's apology for controversial book

New Delhi, May 16 (UNI) The Congress today demanded an apology from Opposition Leader L.K. Advani to the nation and minorities for extremely provocative and offensive remarks against Muslims contained in a book"brought out under his patronage".

"The book has a foreword by the proclaimer of Jinnah and the Rathyatri,"Congress Spokesperson Jayanti Natrajan said referring to Mr Advani.

She told reporters here that the book dealing with the birth of Jan Sangh in 1952 contained"many shocking things" and "cast aspersion on Muslims".It said at one place that the RSS was created after atrocities by Muslims increased.

"Congress demands Mr Advani to come out and apologise to the nation and minorities for having allowed the book to have come out under his patronage,"the Congress Spokesperson said,adding"the book exposes the true communal colour of the BJP which projects itself as having true regard for the Constitution." Every now and then the true stand of BJP is exposed, she said, adding "the Congress calls upon the BJP and Mr Advani to apologise to the nation and minorities for statements reproduced in the book having the foreword by Mr Advani."
