Cognizant technologies ties up with CU to collaborate in research

Kolkata, May 16 (UNI) Cognizant today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Calcutta University to collaborate in the field of research and training.

An oficial release of Calcutta University said here today that this tie up would be 'mutually beneficial.' ''Cognizant would leverage the acadamic excellence and pursuits and CU would benefit from the industry institutional interface,'' it said.

A school of advanced training jointly set up by CU and Cognizant would train the campus recruits to help them meet the industry standards, the release said.

Calcutta University and Cognizant would be taking up joint research programmes as well.

With its headquarters in New Jersey, Cognizant currently employs more than 2,700 people in its development centres in India.

To commemorate its 150th celebration, Calcutta University has tied up with this company.

Calcutta University Registrar Samir Bandopadhyay, Vice-Chancellor Asis Kumar Banerjee, Cognizant head of Kolkata operations and Cognizant Assistant Vice-President Vaidya Nathan were present at the ocassion.
