CID probe against 21 guilty doctors
Jaipur, May 16 (UNI) The Rajasthan government has handed over the enquiry of 21 doctors accused of aiding female foeticide, to the CID.
Doctors of both private clinic and government hospitals have been accused of conducting the Pre-Conception and Prenatad Diagonostic Techniques and were exposed by a sting operation carried out by a private TV channel last month.
The state government has also lodged FIRs against the accused doctors. There have been several rallies and protests by NGOs, women oganisations, doctors and nurses in the past month, demanding stringent action against the accused doctors.
Till a few days ago, the government had only suspended three government doctors. But the pressure from various organisations and a general awakening among the common people has forced the government to take a stand on the issue.
The Rajasthan Nurses Association has decided to form a secret squad to combat the rising female foeticide in the state.
