Mumbai, May 16 (UNI) Former India Cricket Captain Kapil Dev today categorically said that 'burning out' should not be an issue for players and if the cricketers are tired then they should not play.

Talking to reporters here, Kapil Dev said cricket was a profession and in a situation where somebody wanted to take rest, he should opt for it and prepare for the World Cup.

The ace Indian cricketer was in the city to attend a two-day Rajiv Gandhi mini Olympics event which will start from tomorrow and the mini Olympic torch will be lit by Kapil himself.

''We had fair chances of winning in 2002 and this time too we are in a better position as the West Indies team is not as strong as it used to be in the 80s,'' observed Kapil about India's chances of winning in the caribbeans.

''Put your head and mind, be a committed player and win,'' advised the skipper of India's world cup team, which won the World Cup in 1983.

When asked who should open the Indian batting, Kapil said, ''When the team is winning, anybody is perfect.'' Kapil was accompanied by former Indian Hockey captain Dhanraj Pillay and both asserted that mini olympic events should be organised everywhere and schools and colleges should concentrate on all sports events.

The two-day mini Olympic event organised by Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MRCC) spokesman Sanjay Nirupam will be inaugurated tomorrow and saint Bhayyuji Maharaj, sportspersons Kapil dev, Dhanraj Pillay, Anjali Bhagwat, Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel and others will be present.
