Bijapur DCC Bank achieves record earnings

Bijapur, May 16 (UNI) Bijapur District Central Cooperative Bank has set a new record by earning Rs 15.29 crore during last fiscal.

DCC Bank President Shivanand Patil, MLA said that the Bank had during the year lent Rs 161 crore to Agricultural sector and non agricultural advances rose to Rs 47.33 crore. Recovery was around 83 per cent.

He said under interest waiver scheme nearly 60,000 farmers had benefitted to the tune of Rs 37 crore and added that so far the Bank had received Rs 27 crore as compensation from the government.

The Bank would be opening four more branches in the district this year.

The Bank would icnrease the working capital to Rs 450 crore he said and added that credit gold card would be issued to 100 farmers who avail loan over Rs one lakh.

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development(NABARD) had agreed to release Rs five lakh for computerisation of branches, he added.
