Another militant outfit revokes ban on cable TV in Kashmir
Srinagar, May 16 (UNI) The Al-Badr Mujahideen outfit has ''temporarily'' revoked the ban on cable television network in the Kashmir valley.
''We have temporarily revoked the ban on cable operators as we do not want those involved with cable business to suffer,'' Al-Badr spokesman Abu Aatif Hijazi told a local news agency here.
''But, at the same time we want to eradicate the waywardness and obscenity promoted through the cable television. We appeal to cable operators to off air all the obscene channels,'' he added.
The spokesman warned the cable operators of ''dire consequences'' in case they air any obscene channels again.
''We will monitor the cable services for one week and check if the obscene channels have been stopped or not,'' he added.
He also appealed to the parents not to allow their children to carry mobile phones to schools and colleges.
