67 civilians crossed LoC at Poonch in Jammu

Jammu, May 16: As many as 67 people today crossed the LoC from Tatta Pani of the Mendhar sector in Poonch district, which was opened yesterday for fortnightly crossing of the civilians from Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources said while 36 civilians reached Mendhar from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK), 31 crossed into PoK from here.

Of the 36 civilians from PoK, 30 were newcomers while six others had gone to PoK last fortnight. Among the 31 civilians, 13 hailed from PoK and had come here last fortnight while 18 crossed over for the first time to meet their relatives.

Civilian Bhashi Ram was among those who crossed over to PoK.

SDM Bachan Singh and SDPO Yougal Manhas (Mendhar), and Naseem Ahmed, designated authority (PoK) were present during the crossing.
