Tourist complexes for Karna, Tilyar lakes

Chandigarh, May 15 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to develop tourist complexes at Karna Lake in Karnal and Tilyar Lake in Rohtak as ideal tourist destination spots.

Besides, it would also promote Tikar Taal in Morni hills as a destination for adventure tourism, Haryana Tourism Minister Kiran Choudhry said here today.

Ms Choudhry said the state government had provided a major thrust to the tourism promotion activities in the state.

She said Kurukshetra was also being promoted as an important tourism destination with assistance of travel trade.

A sum of Rs eight crore had been earmarked for tourism promotion work in the Annual Plan of the current financial year, she added.

Besides, the conservation and restoration of old monuments at Yadavindra Gardens in Pinjore was being taken up and a heritage preservation consultant had been engaged for this purpose.

Ms Choudhry said the landscaping and beautification of Dream Valley at Badkhal Lake in Faridabad would also be done.

A new Institute of Hotel Management and Training was being set up at Kurukshetra by the Union Tourism Ministry for making skilled man power available for Tourism and Hotel Management projects.
