Sugar prices weaken on poor demand

Navi Mumbai, May 15 (UNI) Sugar prices weakened on poor demand, traders at the sugar market today said.

The rates of small and medium grades declined by Rs ten and Rs 15 per quintal respectively on sustained heavy selling pressure.

The rates of ex-mill small grade went up by Rs three per quintal on better buying support while medium grade eased by Rs five per quintal on increase of stock supply from producing centres.

Following were the sugar spot rates per quintal: Small grade Rs 1,930/1,965, medium grade Rs 1,965/2,010.

Ex-mill small grade Rs 1,918/1,940 and medium grade Rs 1,935/1,970.
