Sub-Postmaster convicted on bribe charge

Bhopal, May 15 (UNI) A Sub-Postmaster at Makronia in Sagar district was sentenced to one and a half years rigorous imprisonment by a special court for taking bribe.

The Lokayukta police caught Mohammad Rauf Qureshi redhanded while taking Rs 300 as bribe from Jagdish Tiwari for payment of Rs 20,500 deposited in his father's name at Makronia post office. Mr Tiwari wanted that the amount be given to his mother and submitted all documents at the post office, official sources said today.
