New Delhi, May 15: Terming it 'very strange' that Congress President Sonia Gandhi was reminding the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government about the projects not implemented during the last two years in office, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today said she should remove the Prime Minister if he was not performing.

''It is looking very strange that Mrs Gandhi is writing letters to the PM issuing reminders... everyone knows she is a Super PM. She has powers to remove the PM and appoint any other obliging person as PM if she is not satisfied with the performance,'' BJP Parliamentary Party Spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said at a press conference in the Parliament House premises, citing the letter written by Mrs Gandhi and publicly released, enumerating the unfulfilled promises.

Reacting to the Left Parties' attack on the Election Commission, he said it is clear that these parties want a 'committed' EC, permitting their party cadres to hold sway. ''They welcomed the same decisions the EC implemented in Gujarat but were raising their voice against the EC when these very rules were implemented in West Bengal,'' Mr Malhotra said, claiming their cadres had infiltrated every system and and ''unless they was cleansed and depoliticised, changes in the state would be impossible.''
