Sachin begins training at MRF, practice from tomorrow

Chennai, May 15 (UNI) The spontaneous turn-out of cricket fans and a large posse of newspersons at the MRF Pace Foundation here this afternoon drove home the point very well -- there is an all round desire for master blaster Sachin Tendulkar to be back in Team India soon.

And Sachin Tendulkar, surely, arrived in Chennai in the morning and drove to MRF Pace Foundation late in the afternoon to get down to the first phase of his rehabilitation Process -- strengthening of his shoulder under the supervision of the physio Ramji at The Foundation.

Sachin, who will also be into batting practice from tomorrow at 0630 hrs, will be training at the Foundation till May 21, under the supervision of Indian team physical trainer Andrew Leipus, who will be joining him from tomorrow.

As the television cameramen and lensemen clicked on merrily, the Mumbai Master, considered the best batsmen in the world, but injury prone of late , worked for about two hours and was put through some specific regimen, based on the report of the recovery of his shoulder injury so far by Indian team physio John Gloster.

Sachin started his workout after submitting a copy of John Gloster's report to Physio Ramji.

However, emerging out of the International class gym at the Pace Foundation, as Telelevision crew and print media personnel 'besieged' him for interaction, Sachin through the Head Coach at the Foundtion excused himself, saying he would address them two days later.

Mr Ramji also preferred to maintain silence over the regimen Sachin will be put through and the present condition of his injury.

''I am not permitted to talk. I will be able to do so only after five days,'' he said.

But earlier at the airport, speaking to a few television crews, Sachin said he had chosen to train at the MRF Foundation, as it has been producing some good pace bowlers for India and this would help him to get back his rhythm to face the Windies speedsters in the Carebeans, where India will be playing four Test matches after the One Day series of five matches.

''I am happy to be here. I have been practicing in Mumbai. Let us see how it goes in the next five or six days at the MRF Pace Foundation,'' Sachin said.

Sachin, helped by Mr Sekhar, Ramji and Leipus will be training in two sessions, One in the morning and another in the evening from tomorrow.

Later in the evening Sachin , switching to his role of brand ambassador, announced the launch of a new product by manufacturers of Reynolds pens.
