Police solve a robbery case within 24 hours
Mumbai, May 15 (UNI) City police has solved a robbery case of 16 lakh in watch shop at Goregaon within 24 hours by arresting a robber at Goregaon Subway in western suburbs, yesterday.
Briefing mediapersons, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dattatraya Karale said here today that in May 12 night, a Sona Watch shop situated in Nalanda Shopping Complex at Goregaon was looted by a robber who fled with 1159 watchs of different companies, worth Rs 16 lakh.
During the investigation it was revealed that one Harish Dipaji Choudhary, residence of the same area is missing since the day of the robbery. A police informer gave a tip-off that he would be coming to Goregaon Subway to meet his friends.
Police laid a trap and arrested him. During the interrogation he addmitted the crime and watches worth of Rs 16 lakh were recovered from him, he added.
He was produced in metropolitan court at Borivali, who remanded him to seven days police custody.
