Police, naxals exchange fire in AP

Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, May 15 (UNI) Police and Maoists exchanged fire this morning at Bogolu in Prakasam district, about 150 km from here.

According to police sources, the incident took place when two Maoists opened fire at a special police team conducting combing operations in Nallamala Forest.

Initially, the police asked the naxals to surrender. But it was of no avail forcing them to retaliate.

The naxals later escaped. No casualities were reported from either side.
