Placement node to help ex-servicemen find jobs

Bangalore, May 15 (UNI) An Army Placement Satellite node is likely to come up in the city soon to provide ex-servicemen access to employment opportunities, Brig P P S Bal, Commandant ASC Centre (South) said today.

Addressing an ex-servicemen's rally here, he said the node would consist a database of potential employers and employees that could be accessed through Internet. The node was expected to become operational at the ASC Centre and College in the city.

He regretted that despite the Union Government introducing various facilities for helping ex-servicemen, it was not being properly utilised as a majority of them were not aware of the schemes. Such rallies would help educate the veterans to a great extent, he added.

Today's rally, organised by District Soldier Welfare Board, was attended by war widows, the next of kin of battle casualties from Bangalore Urban, Rural, Tumkur and Kolar districts.
