Pak should be declared a 'terrorist state': Rajnath

Jammu, May 15 (UNI) Asserting that Pakistan should be declared a terrorist state and its intelligence agency ISI kept on the international watch list, the Bharatiya Janata Party today urged the Central government to stop the dialogue process with Islamabad till the cessation of Pakistan sponsored terrorism.

Addressing mediapersons BJP president Rajnath Singh came down heavily on Islamabad and charged that the root of terrorism was Pakistan. Pakistan had become a breeding ground of terrorism and Pakistan trained terrorists were engaged in killing people, particularly the minorities in Jammu and Kashmir, he added.

The BJP president said the Indian government should mount international pressure on Islamabad to curb cross-border terrorism.

He said India should raise the issue of the United Nations and asked the international body to declare Pakistan as a terrorist state.

''India should also demand to international community that Pakistan's ISI be placed under international scanning for breeding and designing cross-border terrorism,'' he said.

He also blamed the Congress led government at centre for failing to implement the assurance given by Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf in which he had publicly said in 2004 that the Pakistani soil would not be allowed to be used for cross border terrorism.

''India should suspend the dialogue process, with Islamabad on the Kashmir issue till Pakistan stops bloodshed, killings of innocents and cross border terrorism,'' he added.

The BJP president accused Congress led government in Jammu and Kashmir of failing to protect the lives of innocent and referred the barbaric act in Doda and Udhampur last month and grenade attack on BJP workers in Doda city.

Alleging that the attack was aimed at driving out Hindus from border areas, the party also decided to launch a nation-wide agitation for national integration.

''The Party would declare details of its proposed agitation against militancy. The BJP workers from all over country would come to Doda for agitation against terrorism'' he declared.
