NCP fields Niranjan Davkhare for Konkan Graduates Council seat

Mumbai, May 15 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today announced the candidature of Niranjan Davkhare, son of Legislative Council deputy chairman Vasant Davkhare, for the biennial elections to the Upper House from the Konkan Graduates Constituency.

State unit NCP president Arun Gujarathi told reporters that the party has extended support to the Teachers Democratic Front (TDF) in the Nashik Teachers and Mumbai Teachers constituencies and to the Congress for the Mumbai Graduates seat.

Polling, meanwhile, will be held on June 24 instead of June 8 as declared earlier. The elections are being held to fill in vacancies for these four seats following retirement of the sitting MLCs.
