Badaun, UP, May 15 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today claimed his government had done the maximum work for the emancipation of Muslims.

''No other Muslim or non-Muslim CM in the country has delivered more than my regime for the community,'' Mr Yadav maintained.

He also claimed that UP was all set to become the first Indian state, which would not be dependent on the Centre.

''Due to our pro-active policies, top industrialists of the country are keen to invest in the state,'' he added.

The CM lamented the centre was only trying to defame his government on the law and order issue, although nothing was out of control.

''Had the centre not created hurdles, we would have been able to provide 24-hrs power to even small hamlets in UP,'' Mr Yadav asserted.

The SP chief was addressing a public meeting after inaugurating the 9th Badaun Mahotsava.

Mr Yadav also appreciated the role of media, which he claimed provided support to his government at every step.
