MOA demands explanation from Mahesh Lohar

Pune, May 15: The Maharashtra Olympic Association (MOA) has taken exception to the statement made by the executive president of Maharashtra Weightlifting Association Mahesh Lohar alleging that some unknown persons had tried to manhandle him after the conclusion of the association's executive committee meeting held at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium here yesterday.

MOA Secretary General Balasaheb Landge in a statement issued here today stated that the association will demand an explanation from Mr Lohar for his alleged statement given to the media that he was assaulted and manhandled and also for bringing bad name to MOA.

The MOA will not cow down to the alleged dictate or for that matter pressurising tactics of Mr Lohar, he said in the statement.

The statement circulated today also alleged that Mr Lohar has been carrying out irregular financial dealings with some women weightlifter of the state. He (Lohar) has spun a web of falsification to hide his own financial irregularies, the statement alleged.
