Horse-borne smuggler uses sword on cops
Ratlam, MP, May 15 (UNI) In what seemed a scene straight out of a yesteryears Bollywood potboiler, a horse-riding smuggler injured two constables with a sword before the men in khaki arrested him for carrying more than 10 kg opium, worth Rs 2.5 lakh, near Bhatkhedi village, here.
''Following a tip-off, Bhanwar Singh was surrounded yesterday.
Constables Zakir Khan and Ramesh Chandra were hurt,'' Jaora's Sub-Divisional Officer (Police) Vipul Pande said yesterday.
A case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and for attempt to murder. A search is underway for Phanda Singh who supplied the drug.
