Heat wave conditions in J

Pune, May 15 (UNI) Heat wave conditions prevailed in Jammu and Kashmir, northwest Rajasthan and in some parts of Haryana and at isolated places in west Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Haryana, Tamil Nadu and coastal Karnataka and were above normal in Himachal Pradesh, coastal Saurashtra, Rayalseema and in some parts of Uttaranchal, Punjab, east Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Telangana, south interior Karnataka and Kerala and in remaining parts of Tamil Nadu.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh and in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and west Uttar Pradesh. They were below normal in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, north Orissa and in some parts of Gujarat and in remaning parts of Jharkhand, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab and Telangana. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Gangetic West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab and at isolated places in west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kasmir, north Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Assam and Meghalaya and at a few places in Haryana and Andman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
