Four including two children drown in Mahisagar river

Anand, May 15 (UNI) Two women and two children drowned when their boat capsized in Mahisagar river near Kanad village of Anand district this morning.

According to police sources here, ten members of marriage party were travelling on the boat when the incident took place. However, four people were able to swim to safety, while two others were rescued.

Police said the people were crossing the river from Angadh village to attend a marriage at Kanad village.

The deceased have been identified as Sumitra Ramji Rathod (45), Majula Ghuman Padhiar (32), Daksha Padhiar (5) and Saroj Kanti Padhiar (6).

Two rescued persons have been admitted at the civil hospital of near by Bosad town.
