Today's win propelled the red and yellow brigades points tally to 31 from 17 matches.

Mahindra United have already won the crown, finishing with 32 points from 15 matches. However, the Kolkata Club now have an unassailable seven-point lead over rival Mohun Bagan, whio has 24 points from 15 games.

The two teams dished out a fast paced variety of foootball in the first half, before losing steam in the second half. The second half was a tell of mispasses. JCT who have one game left, remained on 20 points from 16 matches.

East Bengal started off well after lemon time, claiming four corners, but could not sustain it for long.
