Dupont launches fire extinguishants for IT sector
Bangalore, May 15 (UNI) DuPont Fluoroproducts, producers of science-based solutions, has launched a clean agent fire extinguishant for companies involved in storage and uninterrupted movement of data and voice information.
DuPont FE-36, developed for the protection of highly sensitive business areas, could be used in portable fire extinguishers, a company release here said today.
The product would give an effective option to potentially damaging water, dry chemical and CO2 portables for the protection of high-valued assets.
The non-harmful, non-ozone depleting product was a replacement to Halon 1211. It secured data, allowed uninterrupted voice in-flow in BPO, Telecom, IT/ITES companies.
DuPont FE-36 was also low in toxicity and left no residue after application, making it suitable for areas containing sensitive or high-value assets, the release said.
''DuPont has developed FE-36 for protecting highly sensitive business application in IT, ITeS and telecom applications where currently the right kind of extinguishers aree not available,'' the release said, quoting, Mr Upal Roy, Business Manager, Fluoroproducts, South Asia.
