Curfew lifted in four police stations, relaxed in other two
Vadodara, May 15 (UNI) Curfew was today lifted from four police sation areas - Raopura, Navapura, Karelibaug and Vadi- while it was further relaxed in the area under two police stations - City police station and Panigate.
Police said curfew will remain in force in the City and Panigate police stations from 1000 hrs to 1800 hrs even as the situation was returning to normal and there were no reports of fresh violence from any part of the city.
An indefinite curfew was imposed across half of the city on May one after violence erupted when a Corporation team accompanied by a police contingent began demolishing a dargah of Sayed Sarsiddin Baba believed to be over 200-years-old, for widening a road near the Champaneri Gate.
Six people have been killed and more than 60 injured in the violence so far.
