Anti-quota reservation protest increases in New Delhi

New Delhi Ay 15: The Anti-quota reservation took a new turn as medical students and junior doctors decided to go on a hunger strike in the capital today.

The descision has disrupted the work and services at the state run hospitals. 100 doctors from the five medical colleges began their hunger strike at All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences ( AIIMS). The emergency services are being run by the senir docs in most of the hospitals.

The protest has also intensified in other places like Amritsar, Ahmedabad and some places of Orissa.

An enquiry has been set up by the Maharastra government into the beating of the medicos near Governor's residence in Mumbai. The state chief minister said that visuals from TVsaid that excessive force was used.

The Indian Medical Association has also called for atotal bandh in Delhi and asked for a probe into the Mumbai incident.
