293 new Legislators in Bengal to take oath tomorrow

Kolkata, May 15 (UNI) All the 293 new Legislators of the 294-member West Bengal Assembly will be administered the oath or affirmation in the House tomorrow, Assembly sources here today informed.

Since the election for the Bhatpara Assembly seat in North 24 Parganas was countermanded and will be held tomorrow, the winner for that seat will be administered the oath on a later date.

Meanwhile, all the members have been asked to produce their respective certificate, issued by the concerned Returning Officer after the counting of votes on May eleven.

Of the 293 new MLAs, a total of 235 belonged to the ruling Left Front, which swept the Assembly elections with four/fifths majority, followed by 29 of the main Opposition Trinamool Congress and 21 of the Congress.
