UP minister weighed in blood for setting up Urdu University
Varanasi, May 14 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Minister Mohd Azam Khan was this evening weighed in blood here for the ''unfulfilled'' cause of establishing the Maulana Mohd Ali Jauhar Urdu University in the state.
The minister was weighed in blood donated by 295 Muslims of the city for the cause of setting up the Urdu University in Rampur district of West UP -- a bill towards which has been returned by state governor T V Rajeswar in the past, programme convenor Shakil Ahmed 'Babloo' told UNI.
The programme organised by the Banaras Sporting Club at the Benia Bag park in the heart of the city, saw the minister being weighed in blood stored in two big boxes.
The blood was later donated to Sri Ganga Charan Hospital, Bareilly.
