Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly to meet on 17th

Chennai, May 14: The Governor of Tamil Nadu Surjit Singh Barnala has summoned the Thirteenth Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly to meet for its first session at 9.30 am on May 17, 2006 in the Assembly Chamber, Secretariat.

The newly elected Members will take and subscribe oath or affirmation on that day.

The election of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly will be held at 9.30 am on May 19, 2006 according to a press release from V Rajaraman, Secretary, Tamil Nadu Legislatve Assembly, here yesterday.

The Governor has appointed Thiru D Sudarsanam, elected from Poonamallee Constituency as Speaker Pro-tem. He will take oath or affirmation at 5.00 pm on May 16, 2006 at Raj Bhavan, here, the release added.

The Governor will address the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly at 9.30 am on May 24, 2006 at the Assembly Chamber, Secretariat, the release further addid.
