Tarigami for making LoC porous
Srinagar, May 14 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has called for creating conducive and peaceful atmosphere to help in successful resolution of all the problems in consultation and involvement of the people of the state.
He also underlined the need for focusing the attention on positive areas of development and human dignity.
Addressing a gathering in Anantnag, Mr Tarigami said the state was confronted with both political and economic problems and the leadership need to work jointly for creating opportunities of development and resolution of issues.
''Let us recognise the principle that any solution must be perceived as honorable by all sides and be implementable. Debate should be on areas related to the people of Jammu and Kashmir governing themselves with the participation of locals and their leadership,'' he added.
The CPI(M) leader said the people's participation in decision-making was the time-tested remedy to overcome the sense of alienation among them.
About the recent Confidential Building Measures (CBMs) in terms of opening of Poonch-Rawalakote road and throwing the Jehlum Valley route open for trade, he said the final aim should be to make the Line of Control (LoC) porous.
