Six die in UP mudslide
Lucknow, May 14 (UNI) At least six persons, including five minors, were killed after being buried in a mudslide in Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh today.
Kannauj SP Prashant Kumar told UNI over phone that the incident took place at village Chandwahar in the Indergarh police station jurisdiction.
While the villagers, including some women and children, were digging mud, a part of it fell on them. By the time villagers and police personnel could pull them out, six of those trapped had died of suffocation.
The deceased have been identified as Bitoli (45), and five children including four girls.
It was not immediately known whether the victims belonged to the same family.
