Script of sound and light programme of mysore palace to be reworked

Mysore, May 14 (UNI) Karnataka government had sought to rework the script on the sound and light programme on the world famous Mysore Palace of the Wadiyars following certain objections raised by Srikantadatta Narasimarraja Wadiyar, the last scion of the Wadiyar dynasty.

Talking to newsmen here Housing Minister D T Jayakumar, incharge minister for Mysore District said that the revised script would be given to Mr Wadiyar for his approval.

He said all efforts would be made to make the world famous Dasara Festivities a grand international tourist attraction.

A comprehensive report on the festivities would be submitted to the government in a month's time. Stating that the arrangements would start well in advance for the festivities he said the festival would not only depict the tradition of Mysore but also showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Kannadigas.

he said six permanent welcome arches would be erected in the city to coincide with the festivities. He had already spoken to Mr Wadiyar and sought his cooperation for the dasara festival, he added.
