Rawalpindi express on road to recovery
Lahore, May 14 (UNI) Pace ace Shoaib Akhtar is well on road to recovery and would be back with a bang for this summer's tour of England, according to Pakistan chief selector Wasim Bari.
After a meeting of national selectors here yesterday, Bari said Shoaib would be included in a list of probables for the tour of England to be announced next week.
Bari said that ''encouraging reports'' have been received over Shoaib's fitness and that is good news for Pakistan.
''Shoaib is a key member in the national team and we would really need him in England where Pakistan are to play in a very important series,'' the selection committee chairman was quoted as syaing by 'The News'.
Shoaib went through surgery on both his knees after being diagnosed with a degenerative disease earlier this year. He missed the home ODI series against India in February and was ruled out of the tour of Sri Lanka.
