N K Premachandran to be RSP's nominee in LDF Govt
Thiruvananthapuram, May 14 (UNI) The Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) today decided to propose the names of N K Premachandran, as the party's nominee in the Left Democratic Front government in Kerala.
The decision to propose Mr Premachandran was taken at the RSP state committee meeting today, party state secretary T J Chandrachoodan told reporters here.
Mr Premachandran, a Rajya Sabha member, was elected to the Assembly from Chavara for the first time in the just-concluded Assembly elections.
He would resign from the Rajya Sabha on May 16.
A lawyer by profession, he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Kollam in 1996 and 1998.
The Left Democratic Front had won 98 seats of the 140-member Assembly in the recent elections.
