MCX COMDEX up 126.96 points

Mumbai, May 14 (UNI) The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) COMDEX was up by 126.96 points (5.07 per cent) during the week ended May 11.

The recorded total weekly turnover was Rs 47917.58 crore, according to an MCX weekly report.

The MCX metal index was up by 210.33 points (6.95 per cent), while energy index was also up by 99.67 points (3.60 per cent) and agri index was up by 70.88 points (4.12 per cent).

All contracts of MCX gold was registered at a turnover of Rs 22409.94 crore while silver recorded a turnover of Rs 15114.45 crore. The outstanding open interest for all contracts of gold was 9,923 kg and the total volume recorded was 219,324 kg.

In the metal segment, all MCX copper contracts registered a turnover of Rs 4086.38 crore with open interest of 6,632 ton and recorded total volume of 112,017 ton while all MCX zinc contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 1213.48 crore, with open interest of 7,120 ton and recorded 72,680 ton as total volume. All MCX aluminium contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 331.51 crore with open interest of 5,450 kg and recorded 23,106 kg as total volume.

In the energy segment, all MCX crude oil contract showed a turnover of Rs 2154.08 crore with open interest of 677,300 BBL and total volume recorded was 67,02,500 BBL.

Following are the turnover of some of the major pulses traded on the MCX: urad contracts registered a turnover of Rs 162.21 crore with open interest of 12,580 ton and total volume recorded was 49,450 ton. Chana contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 337.07 crore with open interest of 19,400 ton and total volume recorded was 127,640 ton.

Following are the major commodities on the MCX: mentha oil contracts registered a turnover of Rs 302.36 crore with open interest of 24,86,880 kg and total volume recorded was 65,85,120 kg while refined soy oil contracts with open interest of 43,370 ton, registered a turnover of Rs 796.88 crore and total volume recorded was 1,90,230 tons. Potato contracts registered a turnover of Rs 571.46 crore with open interest of 136,020 ton and total volume recorded was 868,110 ton.
