Key accused in Krishnanand Rai murder arrested

New Delhi, May 14 (UNI) Delhi police have arrested the key accused in the murder of Uttar Pradesh MLA Krishnanand Rai.

Sanjeev Maheshwari, wanted in the murder case, was arrested by the special cell sleuths, according to a senior police official.

He is being interrogated, the official said.

RAI, BJP legislator from Mohammadabad, was murdered on November 29 at Baswania, 100 km from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.

Six of Rai's supporters were also killed in the incident that happened in a village 100 km from Varanasi while they were going to attend a marriage function in Mohammadabad.
