Iraq foreign minister's guards killed in bombing
BAGHDAD, May 14 :Two bodyguards working for Iraq's foreign minister were killed and three others were wounded when their convoy of vehicles was hit by a roadside bomb north of Baghdad today, police and military officers said.
Minister Hoshiyar Zebari told Reuters he had not been in the motorcade himself but was aware of the attack.
Convoys of Kurdish guards employed to protect Kurdish officials in the national government, such as Zebari, have been attacked before on the roads between Kurdistan and the capital.
The bomb hit Zebari's guards near Adhaim, 80 km north of Baghdad, police said.
