Ind-Swift launches anti-obesity drug
Chandigarh, May 14 (UNI) Ind-Swift Limited today launched an anti-obesity drug called SIBUSLIM-10 here.
Ind-Swift Ltd Joint Managing Director Dr V R Menta said,''Obesity is imbalance between energy intake and energy expenditure, which leads to many medical problems and due to changing life style, overweight and obesity is gaining its foothold amongst Indian masses.'' Vice President (Marketing) Sanjay Dhir said, ''The drug reduces the weight from eight to 10 kg within two months of intake and if at a strech taken for six months weight can be reduced upto 15 to 20 per cent.'' The drug should be taken empty stomach in the morning, he informed.
However, he warned that the drug should be stopped after six months of continuously use and after that proper and regular weight regime should be followed.
Mr Dhir said the drug, which was developed after the clinical trials of two years on 50 patients of all age groups--children, middle aged and old-age persons, contains Sibutramine, an approved drug by US-Food and Drug Administration Authority.
