Buddhadeb not bent upon becoming national leader
Kolkata, May 14 (UNI) Baking in glory receiving a sweeping mandate from the people of West Bengal, Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said he was not considering a career in national politics and rather would zero in on promoting the region.
''My vision is to advance the economy of the region and I will concentrate on promoting the region I represent rather than taking up national issues,'' Mr Bhattacharjee told a private news channel late last night.
He said his party had succeeded because it was in touch with the people in the grassroot level and got the correct information at the ground level.
He said a balanced rural and urban development could improve the quality of life of the people of the state.
