AP CM objects being called factionalist

Hyderabad, May 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today took serious objection to the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) branding him as a 'factionalist.' Addressing the plenary of the PCC, which was held as 'Rededication Conclave' on the second anniversary of his ministry, he said ''those who killed my father are moving about freely in Pulivendula (his native place) even after seven years. If I am a factionalist, would they be able to do so. In fact I had to restrain my followers to ensure their safety,'' an angry Mr Reddy said.

Mr Reddy said that he had entrusted the investigation of TDP MLA Paritala Ravindra's murder to the CBI within 24 hours of the TDP demanding it. The murder was the result of a 20-year-old rivalry between two families, he added.

He also alleged that the TDP had tried to implicate his son Jaganmohan Reddy and his cabinet colleague Diwakar Reddy in the case.
