Jabalpur, May 12(UNI) The West Central Railway has earned record revenue of Rs 1812 crore during 2005-06, an increase of Rs 349 crore over the previous year.

Along with higher passenger and freight traffic in all three divisions- Jabalpur, Bhopal and Kota, increased efficiency also contributed to surpass the revenue target, WCR General Manager Mahip Kapur told reporters here.

About 30 per cent increase in revenue was achieved in freight traffic alone, he added.

WCR, having its headquarters at Jabalpur, has started the practice of sending the revenue accounts daily to the Railway Board since last month.

Mr Kapur said Jabalpur-JammuTawi Express would be operated from July 4 leaving Jabalpur every Tuesday. Allahabad-Itarsi Vindhyachal Express would be extended upto Bhopal from July 15, he added.

In Kota division, work was in progress for linking Jhalawad with Ramganjmandi-Bhopal line, he added.
