V P Singh congratulates DMK chief

Chennai, May 12 (UNI) Former Prime Minister V P Singh congratulated DMK President M Karunanidhi for the Democratic Progressive Alliance's (DPA) victory in the just concluded Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

Mr Singh told Mr Karunanidhi over telephone that he was immensely happy the DPA had registered a massive victory and conveyed his congratulations, a party release here said.

The former Prime Minister had shared the dias with the DMK leader here on May six, when Mr Karunanidhi completed his nearly three-week long election campaign and appealed to the people to vote back the DMK-led DPA to power.
