Rs 50 crore power plan for Bhiwani

Chandigarh, May 12 (UNI) The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) have a Rs 50 crore plan to strengthen power transmission and distribution system in Bhiwani.

A DHBVN spokesman today said the power utilities planned to construct 10 new substations in the district. Besides, the capacity of 12 existing substations of different levels would be augmented.

The transmission construction work involved a cost of Rs 24 crore. Capacity of seven existing substations had already been augmented in the recent past.

To strengthen power distribution system in the district, the DHBVN plans to rehabilitate 25 overloaded and lengthier feeders of 11 KV level by dividing each feeder into two or three feeders of proper length and load, at a cost of Rs 23 crores.

During rehabilitation of the feeders additional distribution transformers would be set up and additional distribution lines would be erected as per requirement so that there is no overloading of the distribution system.
