Police issues prohibitory orders around diplomatic enclave, courts
New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) Delhi Police has issued prohibitory orders in and around the diplomatic enclave and courts here for a period of two months, starting May 17.
Police Commissioner K K Paul, in an order, said it is necessary to take the measures as there are reports that processions and demonstrations are likely to be held in these areas which could cause obstruction to traffic, disturbance to public tranquility and threat to security.
The order prohibits assembly of five or more people, holding of any public meetings or demonstrations, carrying fire-arms, banners and lathis and raising slogans or making speeches.
The Chanakyapuri Diplomatic enclave, housing embassies and high commission, and the areas around the Supreme Court, the High Court and the Tiz Hazari, Patiala House and Karkardooma court complex come under the purview of the order.
