PMC names legislature party leader

Pondicherry, May 12 (UNI) The Puducherry Munnetra Congress(PMC) today elected Mr K Lakshminarayanan as its legislature party leader.

Disclosing this to newsmen here, party founder president P Kannan said he took the responsibility for the defeat of the party. But the three elected members would perfom their duty for the welfare of the people.

Mr Kannan said victory and defeat were common in democracy and he did not want to criticise the verdict of the electorate.

He said the PMC will not not merge with any other party.

Even though the alliance for the election was over, PMC would like to have cordial relations with the alliance partners, he added.
